Rise Like a Phoenix: Getting Back on Track After Your Life Falls Apart

March 1, 2019 by Jarred

Do you feel like your life has fallen apart over the course of the last few months?

Maybe you had your heart broken by someone you thought you were destined to marry. Maybe you lost your dream job and haven’t been able to find work ever since. Or maybe you’ve simply realized that your life hasn’t panned out the way you thought it would.

Getting back on track might seem like an impossible task. But there are so many things that you can do to pull your life back together and inject some much-needed happiness into it.

Take a look at 8 things you can do to start living your best life again.

Make a Doctor’s Appointment

If you’ve been having a tough time getting out of bed every day in recent months, there’s a decent chance that you’re not in the best of health. It’s why you should start getting back on track by making a doctor’s appointment.

Amazingly, about 90 percent of millennials admit that they don’t go to the doctor. This is a huge problem and is causing a lot of Americans to suffer.

You could very well be in perfect health and not have anything to worry about. But before you begin trying to piece your life together again, you should start with a trip to the doctor’s office. It’ll make your health a priority and get you back to feeling good about yourself.

Start Seeing a Therapist

One of the reasons why so many people struggle to push past hardships in their lives is because they don’t take the time to talk to anyone about them. Rather than talking out their problems, they stuff their feelings deep down inside and leave them there, which often leads to their problems eating them alive.

If you’re frustrated, sad, and angry over the way life has been treating you lately, let it out! After you’re done seeing a doctor, start seeing a therapist as well. More than 40 percent of Americans have done it because of how beneficial it can be.

You’ll learn about yourself in therapy and discover some of the things that are stopping you from getting back on track.

Set New Goals

What goals do you have for yourself right now? Are you drawing a blank?

If you don’t have any goals in the back of your mind, pull out a piece of paper and write down a bunch of things that you want to accomplish over the next year or two. They can include:

  • Going back to school
  • Getting a better job
  • Finding love
  • Working your way into great shape
  • And more!

Goals will give you something to work towards in life. They’ll give you a sense of purpose and will result in a feeling of accomplishment when you hit them. It’s important for everyone to have goals, regardless of whether they’re working at getting back on track or not.

Eat Better!

It’s not a secret that most Americans don’t eat as healthy as they should. There have been numerous reports released about it over the years.

But if you’ve been going through a rough patch in life, you’re probably eating even worse than the average American right now. You’ve spent the last few months chowing down on nothing but pizza and assorted junk foods.

Getting your life back on track could be as simple as starting to eat right again. When you’re eating fruits and vegetables instead of cookies and brownies, you’ll feel better than you have in a long time.

Pay Down Debts

On average, Americans have about $38,000 in debt each. From credit card debt and medical bills to student loans and car payments, most people are swimming in debt and suffering as a result of it.

If you have too much debt, it’s going to make it even harder to get your life back on track. You’re going to want to climb back into bed and put your head under the covers every time you have a monthly debt payment due.

You can start to pay down your debt quicker with monthly payment loans. They can help get your finances in order and prevent money from putting a further damper on your life.

Spend More Time With Family and Friends

When is the last time you held a game night with your family or went to a movie with your friends?

Don’t sleep on the importance of socializing and what it can do for your life. You might not always feel like putting in all the effort that comes along with planning something with family and friends, but it’ll be well worth it in the end.

Vow to Make Positive Changes

If you don’t like the direction your life is headed in right now, you could sit around and spend every day complaining about it. Or you could tell yourself that you’re going to do something to make positive changes in your life.

Making positive changes might mean that you decide to:

  • Quit smoking, drinking, or using drugs
  • Make exercise a bigger part of your life
  • Keep yourself out of toxic relationships at all costs
  • Offer forgiveness to someone who might not deserve it
  • Move to a new city to get a fresh start

Change is never easy. But it can be great for you if you commit to making changes that’ll improve your life and stick with them.

Getting Back on Track Isn’t Impossible

During the darkest days of your life, getting back on track might feel like it’s impossible. You might not have any hope for your future.

But there is a light at the end of the tunnel waiting for you. You just need to stay strong and push through whatever is happening in your life at the moment. The strength you’ll gain by doing it will make your life even sweeter later.
