4 colors of toothpaste for children

March 16, 2023 by Jarred

The task of taking care of your teeth is considered to be important for everyone, especially children. With their teeth and gums developing, it is important that a bit of extra care be extended towards them in order to make sure that they would be developed properly. In addition, it would also help in making sure that future cavity and teeth problems can be kept at bay as much as possible.

Which toothpaste to choose for children?

When it comes to choosing a toothpaste for children, it would come as no surprise that you would find yourself to be confronted with dozens of options for toothpastes when you would walk down the oral health aisle. So, when you would be choosing a toothpaste for your child, the majority of the people would consider the health benefits, the expiration date, or sometimes even the flavour.

For kids, handing them with a bubble gum toothpaste would be considered to be the best choice. This is because when they would be seeing the different colours along with the different flavours that they would be able to taste from the same toothpaste, they would find themselves to be more inclined to brush their teeth.

What is the purpose of the coloured bar at the bottom of the toothpaste tubes?

You would also be able to find a coloured bar at the bottom of the toothpaste tubes. While some people tend to claim that the colour of the bar would mean a great deal where the ingredients of the toothpaste are concerned.

Nevertheless, like a lot of things that could be found floating around the internet, the claim about these colour codes could also be found to be completely false. This is because the colour found at the bottom of your toothpaste would mean absolutely nothing where ingredients would be concerned. As such, it should not be used to help you decide on a toothpaste.

What the toothpaste colour codes actually or supposedly mean?

A fake consumer tip about the colour codes of toothpaste tubes seem to be circulating around the internet for quite some time. According to the tip, it is highly recommended that you pay close attention to the bottom of your toothpaste tubes. You would be able to find a small coloured square at the bottom, and the colour, be it green, red, blue, or black allegedly reveals the ingredients of the toothpaste:

  • Black: Pure chemical,
  • Red: Chemical or natural,
  • Blue: Medicine more natural,
  • Green: All natural.

Unsurprisingly, this tidbit of internet has been found to be completely false. This is because the coloured rectangle actually has nothing to do with the formulation of the toothpaste. It is actually simply a mark that is made during the manufacturing process. The marks would then be read by light beam sensors, which would notify machines where the packaging should be cut, folded, and then sealed.

These marks do tend to come in numerous colours, and they would not be limited to black, red, blue, or green. Different colours would be used on different types of packaging or with different machines and sensors. In other words, all colours have been known to mean exactly the same thing.
