Image is really important to a lot of people these days, which isn’t so bad if there’s some substance behind the persona. Nevertheless, who doesn’t want a good set of teeth? Photos are almost impossible to get away from these days and your teeth are usually the first thing that people will see when you can crack a smile.
Keep Your Pearly Whites For As Long As You Can
While there are inevitable circumstances such as an accident that can make you lose some of your teeth, these are some things you can do to be able to keep your teeth looking beautiful longer:
- Be a responsible drinker.
Most people like to think they are responsible drinkers but for the younger generation, once they start consuming alcoholic drinks, things like responsibility and consequences go flying out the window. It only takes a bit of a stumble and there you have it – missing or chipped teeth. That will be a regret in the morning, especially if you wake up next to them!
- Stay away from physical sports or wear a mouth guard.
Playing sports is really important for a whole load of reasons and, to be fair, having a few battle scars here and there adds to character. If you fancy a bit of boxing or a few games of rugby now and then on your free time, you should absolutely wear a mouth guard. A scar here and there is one thing but, having one or more missing teeth in the middle of your smile could be an issue if you like having your photo taken, or you work in a profession that it just isn’t really appropriate for.
- Be careful what products you use to clean your teeth.
There are certain products including some toothpastes that can actually cause your mouth and gums to swell and even burn. You have to ensure you use only trusted products. When you visit one of the Crows Nest dentists or the local dental clinic where you are located, be sure to check the product with them first before trying it out, especially when you’ve got sensitive teeth.
Mind Your Manners
We are living in a bit of an odd time and people may not be their ‘usual’ selves so it’s really important, more so than ever before to behave properly. People are under all sorts of stress so, be polite wherever you can, try not to judge or make fun of others if you see them with missing teeth. Not everybody reacts the same way and what you might find funny, another person may not. You might end up as someone with missing teeth yourself when the person gets offended and physically hurt you.
Generally speaking, there are some things that you can do to maintain or, improve your teeth’s appearance. Some will come across as obvious but, there are times you have to be reminded. Keep yourself safe, don’t annoy people and brush your teeth with a suitable paste twice a day at least.
