Several years ago, it would have sounded ridiculous. Now, cleaning has become fashionable.
One only has to glance at Instagram to see this in its full flow. There are now influencers who have made an entire livelihood about their cleaning stories – and the whole world has bought into this.
The best thing about this new cleaning phenomenon is that you don’t have to spend hours every day to make the difference. More and more hacks are entering the picture each day and through the course of today’s article, we will take a look at some of our favorite ones.
Get the feel-good factor with your oven
It’s tucked away, where nobody can see, so a lot of us immediately decide that the oven isn’t worth of being looked at. This couldn’t be further from the truth. Read as many tips for cleaning your oven safely, as this can make a difference to everything.
Firstly, it’s a psychological thing. If you clean your oven, it sets the tone for cleaning the rest of your home.
Then, there are the odors. You’ll notice a considerable difference the first time you clean your oven; gone are the days of that terrible odor occupying the room (or in severe cases, the entire house).
…And then move onto the dishwasher
If there ever was a case of killing two birds with one stone, it comes with the dishwasher. Just like the oven, it’s one of those appliances that most of us completely ignore. At the same time, it’s also one that can rescue other areas of our home. Not only are you sprucing up the appliance itself, but you are hopefully doing the same for the glasses and other cookware that you are cleaning.
After all, if not properly maintained, dishwashers can develop all sorts of problems which make them utterly ineffective for their original purpose.
Tackle the baseboards
We’ve spoken about the appliances, but one area which a lot of people completely neglect is the baseboards. Considering the fact that these are around the perimeter of our entire home, overlooking them is bordering on a crime!
As such, sweep away the dust, give the area a vacuum, and get to work. You’ll probably need a damp cloth and a cleaning product – although make sure the detergent in question is compatible with wood.
Never forget the blinds
By the same token, the blinds are another area which are also forgotten about. Again, they are probably in every room of your home, and they are arguably looked at more than any other part of your home. Despite this, be honest with yourself when you ask just when the last time you dusted them really was.
There are some specialist blind cleaning products out there, but at the same time you can take matters into your own hands. Depending on the type of blind you have, some might be machine washable, while others might just need a duster. Try and carry this out every couple of months as it will make a monumental difference to each room in your home.
