Weddings are a splendid blend of many things -a celebration, an ode to the traditional, a coming-together of families, the mark of a new stage in life, and an opportunity for creativity. It is also a source of stress sometimes, so it’s best to get a wedding planner or at least find time to gather tips and advice online. Then delegate the different tasks needed: dress designer, interior or motif designer, church organizer, envelope maker, documentation (photography and video editing), catering; the list goes on. If you’re the one who’s in charge of overseeing every detail, it’s best to assign a leader for every committee, then hold brainstorming sessions for everyone to share their creative ideas. You should plan months to alleviate some of the work and make room for trial and error.
Wedding planning doesn’t have to be hellish. It can be a great way to get creative. Here are some things you can do to create a fun and memorable wedding.
Get crafty.
You can get creative with your wedding items. For example, printed invitations are cool and all, not to mention very convenient for large weddings. A good graphic designer can select the right font, font color, spacing, and other designing essentials, while a copywriter can come up with a concise yet sweet caption. However, for VIP guests and for small weddings where this is doable by yourself, opt for handwritten calligraphy on textured paper. It is more authentic that way, aesthetically old-fashioned, and creative. Your guests might even be impressed by your choice.
Consider interests.
Know the couple’s favorites or interests. For instance, if they are into the 80s, an 80s-themed reception will sound fantastic. If they are into gothic culture, they will be pleased with a dark motif. If they are into anything vibrant and they’re okay with any decoration, toss in a rainbow somewhere, like rainbow confetti or a rainbow carpet. Try to mix the bride’s and groom’s favorite colors if the choices are compatible. Above all, listen to the couple and take their considerations to heart. They have their creative ideas, and together, you will come up with something great.
Stay Tuned.
Consider the couple’s interest when picking the perfect wedding song or songs. At the reception, slow love songs are often the way to go, but if you have a couple that is into rock music, find slow rock music with appropriate lyrics. If they like classical music, there are many songs to choose from. Also, think about the ages of the different guests attending the reception. Is it mostly composed of the elderly? Are there several children? Approximately how many different generations are there? Allot the music accordingly, with the bulk catering to the newly-wedded couple.
The perfect wedding does not seem ideal at all. There will be mishaps here and there. What can be avoided should be avoided, and what can be done to improve it should be done as early as possible. This event is an excellent opportunity for reunions, reconciliation, and communication among members of a family. Other than binding two families together, it’s also the first memory a couple will have of their married life.
