Rapping – also called rhyming, MCing, and spitting – is one of the world’s largest and most common types of music, particularly in America.
Rap historically derives from early Griot practices, where historians and singers relate tales at a drumbeat rhythm. Folk musicians in the Caribbean also say rhyme tales that often establish the framework for today’s rap music. DJ Kool Herc, an artist credited for originating hip hop culture, was later brought to the Americas due to his breakbeat DJing form.
The 61st Annual Grammy Awards were celebrated in Los Angeles, California, United States, on February 10, 2019, and we were shocked. Cardi B becomes the first female rapist to earn Best Rap in the history of Grammy, but this was the only honour she was granted out of her five nominations.
